Introducing the iTero Lumina™

What is the iTero Lumina™?

The iTero Lumina™ intraoral scanner is a cutting-edge digital scanning device that captures detailed 3D images of your teeth and gums. Unlike traditional dental impressions (which use messy putty trays), the iTero Lumina uses a small handheld wand to scan your mouth quickly, comfortably, and with incredible precision.

Benefits

  • No messy impressions
  • Faster, more comfortable appointments
  • Improved accuracy for crowns, bridges, and aligners
  • Clear visualization of your treatment plan

Whether you’re receiving Invisalign, a crown, or routine care, our digital scanning technology helps ensure a smoother, more efficient experience.

Intra-Oral Imaging

What is an Intra-Oral Camera?

An intra-oral camera is used by dental professionals to take close-up images of the teeth, gums and other areas inside the mouth.

Why is it needed?

Unlike most cameras that take photos of a wider area, an intra-oral camera focuses on taking photos of a specific area only. They are designed to be used in the mouth and can be properly sterilized to meet infection control protocols.

They allow your dental professional to take a detailed photo of the tooth’s morphology, areas of decay, the condition of dental fillings and more. These cameras also include lights to properly illuminate all areas of the mouth for a better diagnostic image.

Benefits of Intra-Oral Cameras

With the close-up images taken by the intra-oral camera, it is easier for patients to see and understand why certain treatment is needed. Your dentist can easily show an area of dental decay that is located on a tooth that is in the back of your mouth with an intra-oral photo.

Dentistry at the Kingsway has secondary monitors that are used to display dental x-rays and intra-oral photos of important areas in your mouth. Many patients are better able to understand and see changes in their oral health with these visuals.

If it has been a long time since your last dental visit or if you have never had a complete oral exam, contact us to schedule your appointment now.
